We have trekked in the Himalayan tranquility
So can you!
How it Started
In 2024, Harendar Pharswan from Chamoli Garhwal quit his metro lifestyle and traveled to his village to reconnect with his roots. After years of travelling experience around the country and abroad, he wanted to give back and do something for his community. He started writing, filming, and sharing his trekking experiences with a mission:
Sustainable Trekking for a Greener Tomorrow.
Fueled by his desire to make a difference, he organized his inaugural trekking expedition to Nag Tibba, which was well-documented in a blog post that garnered interest from around the world. One trek led to another, ultimately paving the way for Uttarakhandbook, popularly known as UKB.
We took on the challenge of providing the best and most affordable treks while staying dedicated to responsible, mindful travel. UKB is committed to positively impacting the environment, the tourism sector, and the local community by emphasizing ethical and sustainable practices. We believe that the most memorable trek stays in our hearts for a lifetime.
Vision
Our vision for Uttarakhandbook is to establish ourselves as a community platform dedicated to showcasing Uttarakhand's rich culture and diverse heritage and guiding trekkers through its breathtaking natural beauty. We aspire to inspire readers and travelers by delivering engaging and insightful content that truly connects them to the heart and soul of the Himalayan Devbhumi (The Land of Gods).
Through the art of storytelling and sharing of valuable knowledge, we aim to cultivate a deeper appreciation for Uttarakhand's unique identity, while also promoting sustainable tourism practices that benefit both the local community and the environment. Trekking with us is not just about the regular tourist experience. We help you write personalized experiences with authentic cultural significance unique to the hills and people of Garhwal and Kumaon. Ultimately, we seek to connect people and create a vibrant community of individuals passionate about exploring and celebrating the Pahadi life.
